Mild Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminium

Our fabrication shop is equipped to work across three primary material families. Each has different forming, welding and finishing requirements — our experienced team selects the right process for each material and application.

MS

Mild Steel (MS)

The most widely used fabrication material — cost-effective, strong, easily welded and formed. Used for structural frames, machine guards, panels, enclosures, brackets and general engineering fabrications. Surface treatment (painting, galvanising or powder coating) required for corrosion protection.

IS 2062 Grade A/B HR & CR Sheet 0.8mm–12mm Paintable / Galvanisable MIG & Arc Weldable
SS

Stainless Steel (SS)

Chosen for its corrosion resistance, hygiene properties and clean aesthetic finish. SS 304 for standard industrial and food-grade applications. SS 316 for marine, chemical and higher-corrosion environments. Requires careful TIG welding to preserve corrosion resistance — our welders are trained in SS passivation procedures.

How We Work

Our Fabrication Process — Drawing to Delivery

Every fabrication job at Audhe Industries follows a structured process to ensure your component is made right first time and delivered on schedule.

01

Drawing Review & Quotation

Submit your 2D drawings (DXF, DWG, PDF) or 3D files. Our team reviews geometry, material, thickness and quantity to provide a competitive quote with lead time within 24 hours.

02

Material Procurement

Certified raw material (MS/SS/Al sheet, plate, tube or section) is procured from approved suppliers with material certificates. Material is inspected on receipt — thickness, grade and surface condition verified before cutting begins.

03

CNC Laser Cutting / Shearing

DXF files are nested and programmed for CNC laser cutting. Nesting maximises material yield. Complex profiles cut by laser; straight lines can be sheared for efficiency. Parts are de-burred and labelled for traceability.

04

Bending, Rolling & Forming

Cut blanks are formed to the required shape using CNC press brakes. Bend sequence is programmed to achieve the correct geometry without collision. Rolling produces cylindrical or conical shells. First-off parts are dimensionally checked before batch production proceeds.

05

Welding & Fitting

Fabricated parts are jigged and tack-welded for alignment before final welding. Weld sequence is planned to control distortion. Stainless steel joints are back-purged with argon for oxide-free root passes. Welded assemblies are straightened and re-checked for dimensional accuracy after welding.

06

Drilling, Tapping & Grinding

Holes, threads and countersinks are added after welding where required. Weld seams are ground flush or profile-blended. Surface grinding or polishing is applied where appearance or surface finish specification demands it.

07

Surface Treatment

Pre-treatment (shot blasting, phosphating or chemical cleaning) followed by the specified coating — powder coating, spray painting, epoxy or galvanising. Coating thickness is checked with a dry film thickness gauge. Colour matching to RAL or BS standards available.

08

Inspection & Delivery

Finished components are visually and dimensionally inspected against drawing. Critical dimensions checked with measuring instruments. Parts are individually wrapped, protected and packed for safe transport. COC and inspection report supplied on request.

Our Key Fabrication Capabilities — In Detail

CNC laser cutting of sheet metal at Audhe Industries

CNC Laser Cutting — Precision Without Tooling Cost

CNC laser cutting is the most versatile and precise method of cutting sheet metal profiles. A high-powered laser beam (CO₂ or fibre) is focused through a nozzle onto the sheet surface, melting and vaporising the metal along the programmed path. The result is a clean, accurate cut edge with a heat-affected zone smaller than any mechanical cutting method.

  • Complex profiles, slots, holes and cut-outs cut in a single pass — no tooling required, no setup change between parts
  • Positional accuracy of ±0.1 mm on critical features
  • Kerf width as narrow as 0.2 mm — maximum material utilisation
  • DXF/DWG files programmed directly — no intermediate steps between drawing and cutting
  • Nesting software maximises material yield across multiple parts on a single sheet
  • Clean edges on stainless steel suitable for food-grade and pharmaceutical applications without secondary finishing
  • Ideal for prototypes (no tooling cost) and for complex production parts where punching would require multiple tools

Welding — The Right Process for Every Material and Application

Welding is the foundation of metal fabrication — and the quality of a weld determines the strength, appearance and service life of the assembly. At Audhe Industries, our welders are skilled in all three primary welding processes and select the optimal method for each job:

  • MIG Welding (GMAW) — Semi-automatic wire feed process, fast deposition rate, excellent for mild steel and aluminium in medium to high-volume production. Good fusion and consistent bead appearance.
  • TIG Welding (GTAW) — Slower but highest quality. No spatter, precise heat control, excellent for thin stainless steel sheet, aluminium and dissimilar metal joints. Used where weld appearance, hygiene or x-ray quality is required.
  • Arc Welding (SMAW) — Versatile, portable and effective for heavy sections, structural work and field repairs. Used for thick MS plate fabrications and heavy-duty structural assemblies.
  • Weld jigs and fixtures used to hold components in exact alignment before welding — critical for dimensional accuracy in box assemblies and frames
  • Post-weld distortion correction by mechanical straightening or controlled flame heating
  • Weld inspection by visual and dimensional check as standard; dye penetrant (PT) and magnetic particle (MT) testing available on request
Powder coating and surface treatment of fabricated components

Surface Coating — Protection that Lasts

The right surface treatment extends the service life of a fabricated component dramatically — particularly for mild steel in outdoor or humid environments. We offer a range of coating options and select the system best suited to your application and environment:

  • Powder Coating — Electrostatically applied dry powder cured in an oven at 180–200°C. Excellent durability, chip resistance and colour consistency. Available in any RAL colour. Typical film thickness 60–80 µm.
  • Spray Painting (Liquid) — Epoxy, polyurethane or alkyd enamel applied by spray gun. Suitable for large structures, on-site coating and complex geometries difficult to powder-coat.
  • Hot-Dip Galvanising — Immersion in molten zinc bath gives the most durable and self-healing corrosion protection for outdoor structural steel. Zinc coating thickness 45–85 µm to ISO 1461.
  • Electro-Galvanising — Thin zinc coat applied by electroplating. Smoother finish than hot-dip, suitable for indoor components where some corrosion protection and a clean appearance are needed.
  • Surface preparation: shot blasting (Sa 2.5), phosphating or acid pickling as required before coating to ensure adhesion
  • Dry film thickness (DFT) checked and recorded after coating

Frequently Asked Questions

Metal Fabrication & Laser Cutting — Questions Answered

Have a question not listed here? Call +91 422 417 2126 or email enquiry@audhe.com — we respond within 24 hours.

We fabricate mild steel (MS, IS 2062 Grade A/B), stainless steel (SS 304 and SS 316) and aluminium alloys (5052, 6061, 6082). Sheet thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 12 mm, sheet sizes up to 2500 mm × 1250 mm processed in-house. Sections, tubes and profiles in the same materials are also fabricated.
Laser cutting requires no dedicated tooling for each profile — the DXF file programs the path directly. This means: zero tooling cost even for prototypes, ability to cut any complex shape or curve, fast changeover between different parts, clean burr-free edges without secondary finishing on many applications, and a kerf as narrow as 0.2 mm for maximum material utilisation. Punch tools are faster for simple holes and blanks in high volume — our team advises the best approach for your part.
TIG welding (GTAW) is our preferred process for stainless steel. TIG produces the highest quality welds with no spatter, minimal heat-affected zone and precise bead control — critical for maintaining corrosion resistance in SS 304 and SS 316. For stainless joints, we back-purge with argon to prevent oxidation on the root pass (sugar). MIG welding on SS is available for less critical structural applications where weld appearance is secondary.
We offer powder coating (any RAL colour, 60–80 µm DFT), spray painting (epoxy, polyurethane or alkyd enamel), hot-dip galvanising (ISO 1461 compliant, 45–85 µm zinc), electro-galvanising and epoxy primer + topcoat systems. All surface treatments include appropriate pre-treatment: shot blasting (Sa 2.5), phosphating or acid pickling as required for the substrate and coating system.
Yes — prototype single pieces through to thousands of identical parts. Laser cutting is particularly economical for prototypes since there is no tooling cost. For production batches, our nesting software maximises yield and our production scheduling ensures consistent quality and lead time. We are equally experienced with one-off custom fabrication and with repeat production orders.
Yes. If you supply a physical sample, our team will reverse-measure it, prepare a drawing for your approval, and then fabricate to that drawing. We can also work from hand sketches with dimensions, or from digital photos with reference dimensions — our draughtsman will produce a formal drawing for approval before production. 100% customised solutions regardless of how your requirement is communicated.
Yes. We supply fabricated and laser-cut components to clients across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and all other Indian states. Parts are properly packed and packed for safe transit by road or courier. For large structural fabrications, we coordinate with freight companies for safe dispatch. Contact us for delivery timelines and logistics options to your location.
We accept DXF and DWG (AutoCAD) files for direct laser programming — these are the preferred formats. PDF drawings with clear dimensions are also accepted and converted in-house. If you have 3D STEP or SolidWorks files, we can extract flat-pattern DXF files from them. If you only have a sketch or sample, our team will create the drawing for you.
